Toronto and the GTA

PPC consultant in Toronto

I am Ahmet. I sit with owners and look at the ads they are already paying for. Then I tell them what to keep, what to kill, and what to try next.

This page is for a consult. It is not a pitch for a 12 month retainer you have not asked for. If you want a full management team after we talk, we can do that. Start with a meeting.

I work on Google PPC. I also do ChatGPT PPC ads consultation. Those are not the same job. Most Toronto accounts I open still treat them like they are.

What you are hiring when you hire me

A lot of people type PPC consultant Toronto into Google after a bad quarter. The account is live. The reports look busy. The phone is quiet.

I do not start with a slide deck. I start with the account. Search terms. Geo. Device. Hour of day. The landing page you actually send people to. Call recordings if you have them.

I founded LeadGulls in 2017. I still open the files. If we work together, you are not passed to a junior after the first call.

I would rather lose a job than pretend a broken campaign needs more budget.

If you already know you want someone else to run the ads every week, read our Google Ads agency page. That is a different offer. This page is the consult.

Consultant

I review the account with you. You get a written plan. You can keep your login. You can have your staff make the changes. Or I can make them. You decide after you hear the plan.

Agency seat

Someone else lives in the account. You get reports. That can be the right setup. It is the wrong first step if you do not know what is broken.

How the first meeting goes

Plan for 45 to 60 minutes. Bring Admin access to Google Ads. Bring GA4 if you have it. Bring last month’s invoice from any other vendor. If you have a ChatGPT ads login, bring that too.

  1. First 10 minutes What you sell. Where you actually drive. What a good lead is worth. I need the real number, not a hopeful one.
  2. Next 25 minutes We open Google Ads together. I look at search terms, wasted spend, and where the city targeting is sloppy. Most GTA accounts are sloppy here.
  3. Last stretch I say if ChatGPT ads even belong in the next 90 days. Then I tell you the two or three moves that would change the account. Not a list of twenty.

You leave with notes. If I cannot help, I say so on the call. I do not invent work.

Google PPC, the way I actually review it

Google is still where most Toronto buyers type a job, a clinic, a lawyer, a part, or a quote. That has not gone away because chat tools exist.

I look at four things first. The rest can wait.

1. Are you paying for the wrong city?

Presence targeting is not the same as people who live or work in your service area. I see downtown campaigns paying for searches from people sitting at Pearson. I see a Markham plumber showing up for a leak in Mimico. That is not a bid problem. That is a map problem.

2. Is Search doing the job, or did PMax swallow it?

Performance Max can work. It also hides search terms and steals brand traffic. If your branded clicks went up and new customer calls did not, we split the account back into pieces you can read.

3. Does the page match the ad?

A click from “emergency furnace repair North York” should not land on a national homepage with a chat widget. I will tell you if the ads are fine and the page is the leak.

4. Can you name the cost of a real lead?

Form fills are not leads. Job seekers are not leads. If call tracking is missing, we fix that before we talk about creative.

After that we can talk keywords, RSA pin tests, audiences, and budgets. Order matters. People skip to copy because copy feels productive.

ChatGPT PPC ads consultation

People ask me about ChatGPT ads in almost every Toronto meeting now. Fair. Buyers ask the chat box the same questions they used to type into Google.

OpenAI has been selling ads in 2026. Canada is in the early market set with the US, UK, Australia, and a few others. Access is still uneven. Some advertisers get a self serve Ads Manager. Some wait. Some categories are blocked. Health, politics, and a few money topics stay tight.

So the consult is not “turn it on.” The consult is whether you should even apply, and what you would say if you got in.

What I cover in a ChatGPT ads session

The placement

How a sponsored unit sits under an answer, not inside it. OpenAI says the paid unit does not write the answer. Plan as if that stays true. You are buying a placement next to advice. You are not buying the advice.

How targeting works

Google still starts with keywords. ChatGPT starts with the chat. “Best accountant near Yonge and Sheppard who can file a corp return this month” is not a keyword. It is a conversation. Your offer has to fit that sentence.

What to send people to

A chat click is tired. The person already got a long answer. Your page has to finish the job in one screen. Price, area, and a phone number. Not a brand film.

What you will not get

Do not expect a Google-style search terms report on day one. Measurement is thinner. If you cannot accept that, stay on Google until the reporting grows up.

What to do while you wait

Clean your site facts. NAP, hours, service area, prices if you publish them. Chat answers quote public pages. Paid units work better when the organic answer already describes you correctly.

Blocked categories

I will also tell you if you are in a blocked category. No point writing ads you cannot run.

Who should book, and who should not

Book this consult

Book if you spend enough that a bad month hurts. Book if you run the ads yourself and want a second set of eyes. Book if an agency has the login and you do not trust the story. Book if you want a straight answer on ChatGPT ads before you sign something.

Skip this consult

Skip this if you have never run an ad and you want someone else to own the whole thing from zero. That is management, not a consult. Skip it if you need a cheap click package. I will not sell that.

I work with owners. Marketing managers are fine if they can make decisions on the call.

Where I actually work in the GTA

The office is in North York. I take meetings in person there. I also get on a video call if you are in Halton or Durham and do not want the drive.

PPC is local here in a way national playbooks miss. A five kilometre radius in Toronto is not a town. It is four different buyer groups. Below are notes from accounts I have sat in. They are not a service menu.

Suburban commercial road typical of Mississauga and the west GTA
West GTA roads look like this. Search behaviour does not match downtown.

North York, Willowdale, Don Mills, Seneca Hill

This is home base. Fairview, Sheppard, and Yonge pull a lot of mobile searches from condos and the subway. I see English mixed with other languages in the same campaign. Split them if the query language changes the service. Pages that take four seconds to load lose the call. People are on a platform or in a plaza parking lot.

Downtown, Financial District, PATH, Harbourfront

CPCs are ugly. A lot of clicks happen at lunch on office wifi. B2B offers can work. House-call trades often waste money here unless you really serve those towers. Brand terms get eaten by job boards and directories. I put brand in its own campaign so you can see the theft.

King West, Liberty Village, Entertainment District

Gyms, food, condos, software. Search spikes at night and on weekends. A flat daily bid overpays Friday at 11. If your staff cannot answer then, pause those hours. Creative that looks like a Bay Street law firm dies on King West.

Yorkville, Forest Hill, Rosedale, Summerhill

High ticket. People ignore shouty ads. “Starting at $49” can hurt you. I write quieter ads and put proof higher on the page. Radius targeting from Bloor and Bellair still picks up student searches if you are sloppy. Draw the map by postal code.

Midtown, Yonge and Eglinton, Davisville

Clinics, tutors, dentists, condos. Density is the point. A 8 km radius from Eglinton station will drag in leads you cannot serve well. I cut it tighter and raise bids inside the walk shed. Same budget. Fewer no-shows.

The Annex, Koreatown, Little Italy, College Street

Smaller tickets. Students and independents. “Near me” mixes with campus searches. If you do not want undergrads, say the price in the ad. Negative keywords for “job”, “salary”, and “course” save more than new headlines.

Leslieville, Riverdale, The Beaches, The Danforth

Neighbourhood names convert. “Queen East” or “near Kew Beach” beats a generic Toronto ad for a lot of local services. People here will skip a downtown company that looks like it commutes in. Put the east-end proof on the page. Photos of the actual street help.

Etobicoke, Mimico, The Kingsway, The Queensway, Long Branch

West-end service work. A lot of searches start in the car on the QEW or 427. Call-only after 4 pm often beats a form. The Kingsway and Long Branch are not the same buyer. I do not let one ad group cover both.

Scarborough, Agincourt, Woburn, Guildwood, Kennedy

Language is the first split. English-only ads miss demand in more than one corridor. I would rather run two smaller campaigns than one “Toronto” campaign with a wide radius. Drive time from your shop matters. People hang up if you quote a 70 minute arrival.

Mississauga, Square One, Port Credit, Streetsville, Airport

This is its own city. Many people will not hire a downtown Toronto firm that “also serves Mississauga.” Say where the truck starts. Airport corridor B2B is a different account from Port Credit storefront work. Pearson searches pollute both if you use presence or interest targeting without exclusions.

Brampton, Steeles, Queen Street

Trades, logistics, clinics. Weekend and after-hours queries behave unlike weekday ones. I bid them apart. Language mix shows up in search terms fast. If your staff cannot take those calls, do not buy them.

Vaughan, Woodbridge, Concord, Maple

Highway 400 and 407 industrial. A lot of “near me” is near a warehouse, not a house. Commercial intent words need their own ad groups. I exclude downtown job seeker queries that leak in through broad match.

Markham, Unionville, Richmond Hill

Professional services and retail. In several categories, Chinese language search is not a side test. It is half the demand. If you only run English, you are bidding on a partial market and then wondering why CPCs feel high.

Oakville, Burlington, Milton

Halton buyers compare. Four quotes is normal. Cheap clicks that bounce after one page are a waste. I spend more on the follow up than on extra keywords. Milton growth traffic is not Oakville money. Keep the campaigns apart.

Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa

Durham CPCs are lower. If you copy a downtown Toronto bid, you either vanish or look desperate. A local number helps. People here can smell a 416 call centre. I treat this as its own market, even if your shop is in Scarborough.

Newmarket, Aurora, and north York Region

These buyers do not want a downtown Toronto plumber. Geo exclusions save more than new keywords. If you insist on covering “all of the GTA,” I will show you the wasted zip codes first.

What I need from you

Access. Honest numbers. A person who can say yes or no on the call. That is the list.

I do not need a 20 page brief. I do not need your brand story. I need last month’s spend, what you sell, and where the van or the staff actually go.

Questions I get on this consult

Is this the same as hiring your Google Ads agency?

No. The agency page is for ongoing management. This meeting is a consult with me. Some people stop after the plan. Some ask us to take the account. I will not push that on the call.

Do I have to hand over the Google Ads account?

For the first meeting, Standard or Admin access is enough. You can remove it after. If we later run the account, we set access properly. You keep ownership of the customer ID.

Can you run ChatGPT ads for a Toronto business?

I can tell you if you are even eligible, what to prepare, and how the unit differs from a Google search ad. If you get a login, I can help you build the first campaigns. I will not promise inventory you do not have yet.

Do you only work inside the City of Toronto?

No. I work across the GTA. Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Oakville, Burlington, and Durham included. The office is in North York. Video is fine if the drive is a pain.

What should I bring?

Google Ads login. Last month’s spend. A short list of postal codes you actually serve. One example of a good customer and one example of a waste-of-time lead. If you have ChatGPT ads access, bring that too.

How do we price the consult?

I set that on the booking call. It depends on account size and whether you want a written plan after. I do not hide a contract inside a free audit.
